Harada believes there won't be a Tekken Tag Tournament 3 during his career

After the first installment in 1999 and a sequel back in 2011, Bandai Namco seems to have forgotten about the Tekken Tag Tournament series.
In an interview with Destructoid, Katsuhiro Harada, the producer of Tekken, discussed the possibility of a third installment. Unfortunately, it seems that we shouldn't count on it. Harada said that he was thinking more along the lines of "a kind of mode in Tekken 9 or whatever we end up calling it".
Harada also noted that developing Tekken Tag Tournament 3 would take far too long and be extremely complex.
"We have so many more moves than a typical 2D fighter. So much more work is involved in trying to do that with a 3D game…It’s probably a ways off if it were to happen, and so probably not in my working lifetime. So that’s something that the next generation can decide."
