AMD and Intel are reportedly working on CPUs with double L3 cache
, by Quentin
We are getting more and more leaks on the CPU side: AMD is reportedly preparing a Ryzen processor with double 3D V-Cache, while Intel is developing a Nova Lake model with two BLLC blocks (equivalent to AMD's 3D cache).
According to Chiphell, the Intel version would have more than 200 MB of cache, compared to the 140 MB initially planned. For its part, AMD reportedly already has the technology ready, with a prototype based on Zen 5, and is aiming for a release well before Nova Lake (expected in late 2026).
The main challenge would be performance management. But with growing demand for AI and LLM models, the two giants seem ready to massively increase cache size.
