Nintendo publicly addresses the Switch 2 overheating issues

Japan is currently going through a severe heatwave. Beyond all the problems this causes in everyday life, this has also had a significant impact on the proper functioning of the Switch 2.

In fact, many Japanese gamers have reported cases of their consoles overheating. So much so that Nintendo had to address the issue on X. The manufacturer has encouraged users to only play when the temperature of their environment is between 5 and 35°C.

"When using a Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 in a hot environment, the temperature of the device may rise. This can potentially cause malfunctions, so please use it in a location between 5 and 35°C."

It's also important to note that it is not recommended to play in locations where the temperature is below 5°C, not just when the temperature is high.
