EA doesn't think of Battlefield 6 as a game, but rather a platform
, by Thibaut
The commercial success or failure of Battlefield 6 could dictate part of Electronic Arts' future. After all, the American publisher seems to be going all-in on its next FPS.
During a meeting to present the company's financial results, EA CEO Andrew Wilson set the tone very clearly. He thinks Battlefield 6 will not simply be a game, but a real platform to be supported over several years.
"We've been investing more behind this Battlefield than any Battlefield product before it."
"And really, the big reason for that is this isn’t just a product. We’re really building out Battlefield as a platform. And you’ll hear a lot more about this in just two days’ time, and all will become more clear about the nature of our investment over the last four years, with four studios building against this launch to date."
The multiplayer mode for Battlefield 6 will be revealed this Thursday, July 31.
