Some alleged prototypes of the Switch 2 OLED chassis have reportedly been spotted
, by Quentin
An OLED model of the Nintendo Switch 2 has reportedly already been prototyped, according to an announcement on a Chinese sales platform.
Intermediate chassis allegedly from an OLED model of the Switch 2 are for sale on Xianyu, China's largest second-hand site. Dated 2024, these prototypes are similar to those of the launch model, with the exception of side lettering and silver or white coloring on some examples.
An OLED screen would pose technical challenges, particularly for VRR, but could correct the shortcomings of the launch model, deemed mediocre in HDR and image fluidity. A new model with a better display wouldn't be far off.
