The Radeon AI PRO R9700, the first professional card in the Radeon 9000 range based on the RDNA4 (Navi 48) architecture, has been spotted at US retailer Tech America at a price between $1244 and $1267.
This model has the same specifications as the RX 9070 XT (4096 cores), but doubles memory capacity to 32 GB. It is not a direct successor to the more powerful PRO W7900, but rather an evolution of the PRO W7800, which launched at $2,499.
The price difference can be explained by the fact that AMD does not manufacture this card directly, leaving this task to partners such as Sapphire or ASRock, who offer radially ventilated models.
Despite ambiguous packaging evoking video games, the R9700 remains a workstation-oriented board, not very well suited to the general public. The RX 9070 availability is still limited to the recommended price.
