Intel is working on a Nova Lake-AX APU to compete with the AMD Strix Halo

According to new rumors, Intel is working on a Nova Lake-AX, a high-end APU designed to respond to the increasing power of AMD's Strix Halo platform.

With Strix Halo, AMD offers a chip equipped with 16 Zen 5 cores and a Radeon 8000S GPU with up to 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units, achieving performance close to that of some mid-range graphics cards.

Intel could be looking to offer an alternative with a Xe3 GPU with a bit more weight to it, not limited to 8 compute units as in its current designs.

Nova Lake-AX would target higher TDP configurations, close to the 120W of the Strix Halo, but could also be adjusted for lower energy profiles. No specifications are yet available, but the source confirms that this project is intended as a direct response to AMD's APU.
