Donkey Kong Bananza is a huge critical success

Donkey Kong Bananza will be released this Thursday 17, 2025 exclusively on Switch 2, and has passed the test of the press already. First things first, all have been glowing to say the least.

At the time of writing, Nintendo's title has a Metacritic average of 91%, with 76 reviews to its credit. The score is similar for the time being on OpenCritic.

The tests underline that the Donkey Kong and Pauline duo works perfectly, that the title offers plenty of content and that the sound direction is superb. On the whole, the gameplay is accessible and the different worlds are very well done.

As far as shortcomings are concerned, the camera is a little messy, the bosses are relatively simple and the music could be better.
