The European Union finally approves the acquisition of Activision Blizzard King.

The decision was anticipated, and this time it favors Microsoft. As we speculated last week, the European Commission has issued a favorable opinion regarding the merger between Activision Blizzard King and Microsoft.

In its statement, the institution explains that "the commitments fully address the competition concerns identified by the Commission and represent a significant improvement for the cloud gaming sector compared to the current situation."

The investigation report also states that "even if Microsoft were to remove Activision games from PlayStation, it would not significantly harm competition in the console market." However, the American multinational must abide by its recent commitments on cloud gaming. It should be noted that Microsoft has entered into partnerships with several streaming platforms to offer Activision games through the cloud.
