A Switch ROM site got seized by the FBI
, by Thibaut
Nintendo is continuing its crackdown on game piracy. The Nsw2u site was shut down by a seizure warrant issued by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
The seizure was then carried out by the FBI. Nsw2u offered Switch game ROMs that players could download free of charge before using them on their pirated console or PC emulator.
ISPs in several European Union countries blocked access to Nsw2u. The Dutch FIOD agency has also been mobilized on this case. Its function is to investigate financial crimes.
For the time being, Nintendo has not publicly claimed responsibility for the tip-off that led to the disappearance of Nsw2u. A message from the FBI is now displayed on the site.
