It seems Microsoft has "unrealistic" financial expectations for Xbox

The cutbacks may be far from over at Microsoft. After a huge wave of layoffs last week, the group's gaming branch may suffer further.
On X, Windows Central reporter Jez Corden revealed that Microsoft CFO Amy Hood has reportedly given Xbox "an utterly unrealistic financial requirement that is going to continue hurting the division". According to Corden, game cancellations, layoffs and other studio closures are far from "over".
For The Verge's Tom Warren, Hood's request is not "unrealistic" and reflects "just the reality of the Xbox business after the ABK acquisition". According to Warren, “without that deal Xbox revenue would be down, and the Game Pass gamble hasn't paid off yet".
