Deviation Games, a studio supported by PlayStation, hit by a wave of layoffs
, by Thibaut
In recent days, the situation around studios owned or supported by PlayStation has been quite concerning. PixelOpus (Entwined, Concrete Genie) will soon be closing its doors, and now Deviation Games is being impacted by several dozen layoffs.
While the studio does not belong to Sony, the Japanese company financially supports it to create a new exclusive license for the PS5. Today, the future of this mysterious game seems rather threatened, as the website Video Games Chronicle states that 90 employees may have been dismissed this week. Several of them have spoken out on social media to announce their departure.
"My studio has recently faced a difficult situation and has been forced to proceed with a number of layoffs [...] » explains Kyle Perras, a software engineer who is affected by these dismissals. We do not know if the project published by Sony Interactive Entertainment is still ongoing.
