Xbox could soon close several studios and lay off up to 2,000 people

Some analysts are expecting a real catastrophe at Xbox in the coming days. We know that Microsoft will have to make redundancies, and the gaming division could be hit hard.
According to George Broussard, founder of 3D Realms/Apogee, in a post published on Bluesky, "people are anxious and worried" in most Xbox studios. Employees reportedly believe that entire studios could be closed. Worse still, between 1,000 and 2,000 of the 20,000-strong Microsoft Gaming workforce could be made redundant.
In its article, Bloomberg mentioned thousands of redundancies across all Microsoft divisions over the coming weeks.
