Third-party games on Switch 2 fare better than those on Switch 1
, by Thibaut
In its report this week, The Game Business mentioned the really poor sales of third-party games on Switch 2, with Cyberpunk 2077 being one of the few exceptions to have sold well at the launch of Nintendo's console.
Now, Circana analyst Mat Piscatella has added a little nuance to this analysis. On Bluesky, the principal interested party highlighted the fact that "3rd party share of Switch 2 software in the US is far better than it was during the Switch 1 launch."
He also points out that "third party unit share of Switch 2 physical software during week 1 reached just shy of 40%. For month 1 of the Switch launch it was less than 20%."
