The Japanese publisher is doing great! Capcom has just communicated its results for the fiscal year 2023 (from April 1st, 2022 to March 31st, 2023). And it's fair to say that the Japanese company has pulverized all its previous records.
During this period, Capcom has already sold 41.7 million games worldwide. The share of digital sales is significant, representing 37.3 million titles against 4.4 million in physical format.
Among the best-sellers are recent games such as Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak with 5.45 million copies sold. The remake of Resident Evil 4 has sold 3.75 million copies. For the rest, we can mention Monster Hunter World (18.8 million), Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (10.2 million), Resident Evil Village (7.9 million), or Resident Evil 2 (12 million) and Resident Evil 3 (7 million).
In total, the Resident Evil saga has sold 142 million units, Monster Hunter is at 92 million and Street Fighter at 49 million. A nice top 3 followed by Mega Man (38 million), Devil May Cry (29 million), and Dead Rising (15 million).
