No, there will (probably) be no Red Dead Redemption announcement this week

Over the past few days, two key members from the Red Dead Redemption franchise have been teasing some kind of joint announcement. Of course, this was enough to send the Internet into a frenzy, giving rise to speculation of some varying degrees of credibility.

Many were hoping for a current-gen upgrade for Red Dead Redemption 2 and even a Switch 2 version. Others were expecting a new DLC in the vein of Undead Nightmare.

Alas, it wasn't to be. In a video posted on YouTube, actor Rob Wiethoff, who plays John Marston, ended up backtracking. He admits that he may have “misled some people ”. He adds that only "Rockstar Games makes announcements for Rockstar Games. And I'm not in charge of that ".

But that doesn't mean there won't be any announcements from Rockstar Games. A number of credible insiders point to Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS5, Xbox Series and Switch 2 this year. We'll just have to be a little more patient.
