The first Animal Crossing game will be playable soon on other platform

The first Animal Crossing was released on the GameCube in Japan back in April 2001 as Dōbutsu no Mori before coming West on 2002.
Recently, a few fans have joined forces in order to decompile it. This will allow the game's code to be recreated, making it fully moddable and playable on other platforms. However, there's still some work to be done on the matter.
It's safe to assume that the first Animal Crossing will soon be coming to PC... unless Nintendo gets involved.
