But who will stop Nintendo's hybrid machine?! The latest figures have just been released, and they are simply staggering. During the fiscal year from April 2022 to March 2023, 17.97 million Switch units were sold globally. This represents a 22% decrease compared to the previous year, but it still remains an excellent result.
This brings the total number of Switch units to 125.62 million worldwide. Only the PlayStation 2 (155 million) and the Nintendo DS (154 million) can boast better sales figures. In the same fiscal year, the Japanese manufacturer sold 213.96 million Switch games, which is a slight decrease (9%) compared to the previous year. It is also the first time that a "Nintendo" branded machine has surpassed one billion games sold.
Lastly, among the recent releases, Fire Emblem Engage recorded 1.61 million sales, 1.09 million for Metroid Prime Remastered, and 1.46 million for Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe.
