The Borderlands games are suffering a review bombing on Steam

PC gamers can currently pick up a free copy of Borderlands 2 via Steam. That said, almost every game in the franchise has been getting very negative recent reviews on Valve's platform for several hours now.

The reason for this is an alleged change in the conditions of use applied by 2K Games to its various entries. There's a clause thjhat seems to stipulate that the publisher will have constant access to players' personal data. In reality, however, this procedure is nothing new.

On X, developer EpicNNG has indeed clarified that the modification of the EULA changes absolutely nothing. A modder specializing in Borderlands games even pointed the finger at "a lot of misinformation and fear mongering concerning the new 2k TOS". According to him, "the main clause everyone's freaking oout about was already there".

Furthermore, the changes would have no impact on modding. A topic on Gearbox's official forums has been dedicated to mods since the release of Borderlands 1, and no action has ever been taken against the community's creations.
