Square Enix could make a disappointing announcement at Summer Game Fest
, by Thibaut
Speculation is rife about that will be announced at the Summer Game Fest this June 6. In fact, Square Enix is expected to be at hand during the event.
While some users are hoping for a Final Fantasy IX Remake or even Kingdom Hearts 4 after all this time, the Japanese publisher may opt instead for a slightly less exciting showing. According to an insider on ResetEra, this presentation will be the equivalent of the announcement of Foamstars, a free-to-play game with a Splatoon feel that came out in February 2024.
In other words, Square Enix won't be talking about its biggest licenses on the Summer Game Fest stage.
