PixelOpus, the PlayStation studio behind Concrete Genie, is closing its doors

A small studio owned by Sony is set to permanently close its doors. Little known to the general public, PixelOpus is a small structure that was founded in 2014. Its first game, Entwined, was announced and released at the PlayStation conference at E3 2014. Five years later, the same studio released the poetic and touching Concrete Genie.

Unfortunately, on Friday, May 5th, 2023, PixelOpus officially announced its closure via a statement published on social media.

"Dear friends, the PixelOpus adventure has come to an end. As we turn to new horizons, we wanted to warmly thank the millions of passionate players who have supported us, as well as our mission to create beautiful and imaginative games with heart. We are very grateful to you!"

The studio will therefore cease its activity from June 2nd onwards. According to some rumors, PixelOpus was working on a new game, Sly Cooper. This one would have logically been canceled.
