NVIDIA and MediaTek are said to be working on an APU for gaming laptops

According to Taiwan Economic Daily, NVIDIA and MediaTek are collaborating on an APU for gaming-oriented laptops. The project is intended to compete directly with Intel and AMD in the high-performance processor segment, currently dominated by AMD's Phoenix, Strix Point and Strix Halo ranges.

The chip, based on ARM architecture for the CPU and Blackwell for the integrated graphics, is expected by late 2025 or early 2026. It would initially be exclusive to Alienware notebooks from Dell, NVIDIA's long-standing partner.

Initially made for the desktop market, this chip would eventually be reoriented towards the laptop. This strategic partnership would enable NVIDIA to test the product on a smaller customer base before rolling it out more widely.
