AMD defends the RX 9060 XT 8GB, despite memory criticisms

AMD has gone and justified the release of the Radeon RX 9060 XT in an 8 GB version, priced at $299. There's also a 16 GB version available at $349.

This choice has been criticized, notably for the confusion that a single name can create for two cards with different specifications - a practice similar to that of NVIDIA with the RTX 5060 Ti.

AMD manager Frank Azor asserts that the majority of gamers still play in 1080p and don't need more than 8 GB of VRAM. He assures us that AMD would not launch a card if there were no demand.

Finally, while AMD retains a full PCIe 5.0 interface (16 lanes) on its RX 9060 XT, unlike the RTX 5060 Ti, which is limited to 8 lanes, doubts persist as to the relevance of choosing 8 GB, especially with games becoming ever more demanding.
