Embracer is reorganizing its video game subsidiaries

Embracer Group has announced a major reorganization of its divisions. The label Coffee Stain has went on to become a stand-alone entity, while premium label Middle-Earth and Friends being renamed Fellowship Entertainment.

Fellowship Entertainment will group together several major licenses, including Lord of the Rings, Tomb Raider, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Dead Island, Killing Floor and Metro. More than 40 studios are involved, including Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montréal, THQ Nordic, 4A Games, Gunfire Games, Plaion and Dark Horse.

For its part, Coffee Stain Group, which focuses on community-oriented, free-to-play PC, mobile and console games, becomes an independently listed company. CEO Anton Westbergh hailed the move as a logical step, offering greater clarity and autonomy.

Lars Wingefors, CEO of Embracer, reaffirmed his confidence in Coffee Stain's strategy, believing that this structure will foster new partnerships with independent developers.
