VLI shows a portable gaming dock concept with HDMI 2.1 and USB-C at Computex 2025
, by Quentin
VLI was at Computex so show a prototype portable gaming dock combining several of its in-house components: the VL605 (USB-C to HDMI 2.1), the VL832 (USB4 interface) and the VL109 (dock controller with USB Power Delivery support).
This compact dock features an HDMI 2.1 port with VRR support, a first for a docking station according to VLI. It also includes a USB-C port with video output (DP Alt-mode), two USB-C ports with power supply (USB PD) and two USB-A ports. Few docks on the market combine VRR support with fast USB ports.
The system was tested with compatible AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync displays, with no worries. This dock could be of interest to gamers looking for a simple solution for connecting their external display and peripherals to a laptop PC.
