AMD presents its latest Ryzen AI and EPYC processors

AMD unveiled several processors at Computex. Among them, the Ryzen AI Max ‘Strix Halo’ stands out for its imposing size.

This chiplet processor incorporates two Zen 5 CCDs (each with 32 MB of L3 cache) and a large TSMC N4P SoC+iGPU block, with 40 graphics processing units and a 256-bit LPDDR5X memory interface.

Another model on show: the Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro, designed for professional notebooks. This monolithic “Strix Point” model benefits from support for AMD Pro features.

Finally, AMD also showed off the Ryzen Z2 Extreme, designed for portable consoles. It is based on an optimised version of “Strix Point”, with some CPU cores deactivated but a full iGPU (16 CU).

On the server side, there's the new EPYC 9006 Turin processor with its 12 Zen 5 CCDs.
