Freedom Wars 2 and Soul Sacrifice 2 were in the works for PS Vita at some point

The PS Vita is undoubtedly Sony's forgotten console. Even though it was much appreciated by the few gamers who chose to buy it when it released in February 2012, the portable machine didn't stay on the market for very long.

During an interview with Sacred Symbols+, Shuhei Yoshida, the former head of PlayStation Studios, looked back on this era. In particular, he explained that sequels to two well-received PS Vita games were cancelled when Sony finally decided to focus solely on the PS4.

"We were working on Soul Sacrifice 2 and Freedom Wars 2, but for budget reasons, we had to stop and switch to the PS4."

Yoshida also noted that if many PlayStation licenses never made it to PS Vita, it was also because the focus was on PS4.
