The Switch 2 has a battery preservation mode that stops charging at 90%

There's only three weeks to go before the Switch 2 releases on June 5. But before that, we've learnt that Nintendo is introducing some unsuspected features to its console out of nowhere.

Thanks to the Nintendo Today app, we now know that there's an option that makes the battery to stop charging at 90%. This is intended to reduce the gradual deterioration of the battery over time.

In the menu, it is stated thatwhen this option is activated, "The Nintendo Switch 2 system stops charging when it reaches about 90% remaining battery" in order to preserve its lifespan. Nintendo warns, however, "that the console may recharge the battery to 100% to ensure correct display of the charge level".
