You need to go back to February 2024 to witness the announcement of the partnership between Epic Games and Disney. By shelling out $1.5 billion, Mickey's firm intends to offer brand-related experiences directly in Fortnite.
In an interview with CNN, Josh D'Amaro, president of the Disney Experiences division, spoke about this project. He talks about the possibility of a Disneyland park coming directly into a virtual space like Fortnite, and creating bridges between virtual and real-world experiences.
This week, The Walt Disney Company announced the creation of a seventh theme park, to be located in Abu Dhabi. D'Amaro intends to use this extremely modern destination to let visitors use video games as a form of on-site interactivity.
