CD Projekt RED promises that Cyberpunk 2077 will be better optimized on Switch 2 than on PS4 and Xbox One

The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 in December 2020 was chaotic, to say the least, particularly on previous-generation consoles. The title was plagued by serious graphical and technical shortcomings.
In an interview with Game File, CD Projekt RED engineer Tim Green reiterated that the game will be optimized for the Switch 2, and will run at 1080p when the console is docked. Full HD should also be available in Quality mode when playing in handheld mode. Only the portable Performance mode will run at 720p.
Green was also keen to reassure gamers who might be concerned about encountering problems similar to those seen on PS4 and Xbox One at the initial release of Cyberpunk 2077.
"Of course, like any creative process, development has been full of challenges. But we've been careful to make compromises so as not to compromise the game's vision."
"We didn't have to struggle with the console's memory. The speed of the data storage medium alleviated some of the initial problems with the appearance of textures (on PS4 and Xbox One). This allowed us to concentrate our efforts on other improvements, and we're very pleased with the result."
