Nintendo UK hints at variable pricing for Switch game upgrades
, by Quentin
Nintendo UK has posted the prices for upgrades to Switch 2 editions on the eShop. Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will have a £7.99 upgrade, included for subscribers to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
In contrast, upgrades to Kirby and the Forgotten World and Super Mario Party Jamboree are priced at £16.99. In the U.S., upgrades for the Zelda games will cost $9.99, suggesting that those for Kirby and Mario Party will be $19.99.
The price difference seems to be linked to the content added. The Zelda games gain in fluidity and resolution, and integrate a side application. Kirby adds a new scenario, and Mario Party adds new modes exploiting the Switch 2's specific functions (mouse, microphone, camera). Other games such as Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokémon Legends: Z-A will also feature Switch 2 editions.
