The price of the Switch in the USA won't go up... but accessories will

After much concern, Nintendo has given its verdict on the pricing policy for the Switch 2 in the United States. The recent series of customs duties delayed the opening of pre-orders and could have led to a price increase for the machine.

Fortunately, this will not be the case, as the manufacturer has announced that the Switch 2 will be sold on its own for $449.99. The bundle with Mario Kart World is priced at $499.99. The racing game and Donkey Kong Bananza also keep their prices. Pre-orders open on April 24 in the USA and Canada.

However, an increase will be applied to accessories due to market developments. For example, the Pro Controller will be sold at $84.99 instead of $79.99, and the dock at $119.99 compared with $109.99 previously.

Nintendo adds that "other price adjustments for any Nintendo product are also possible in the future".
