Microsoft is reportedly planning to finalize the acquisition of Activision Blizzard in 2024

The American company suffered a major setback in its merger with Activision Blizzard. Indeed, the British competition authority has decided to oppose the acquisition, citing Microsoft's dominant position in the cloud gaming market. The multinational corporation has understandably chosen to appeal this decision.
Following these recent events, the acquisition may not be completed this summer as Microsoft had hoped. Now, we will undoubtedly have to wait until 2024 to know the final outcome. This deadline could be extended further if the European Union were to render a similar opinion to that of the CMA on May 22nd. The saga will therefore continue.
