The PS6 Portable could run PS5 games... but worse

Yesterday, we reported on some rumors about a portable PlayStation 6, which is still shrouded in mystery. At the time, we were talking about a less powerful model than the current PlayStation 5.

According to information from reliable leaker KeplerL2, the future PS6 Portable would be capable of running PS5 games, though with reduced resolution and framerate. The limitation would mainly come from lower memory bandwidth. The SoC used would be an a15w model engraved in 3 nm. In terms of performance, the device is said to be somewhere between an Xbox Series S and a PS5, although this is difficult to assess precisely due to the as-of-yet-unknown GPU architecture.

KeplerL2 also specifies that the chip in the portable version will be different from that of the classic PS6, with "far fewer than 40 computing units" and a design thought out to operate at very low voltages. However, all this information comes from an unofficial and should be treated with caution.
