Can't afford a Switch 2? Then Nintendo wants you to stick with the Switch 1

In June 2013, at E3, Don Mattrick, then CEO of Xbox, suggested that gamers who didn't have a stable internet connection should stick with Xbox 360 rather than buy an Xbox One. It was a highly controversial comment at the time...

Almost 12 years later, it's Doug Bowser, head of Nintendo of America, who makes a similar exit, referring to the price of the Switch 2.

"As we look at Nintendo Switch 2 and you think about the feature sets that I talked about ... we believe that the pricing is appropriate for the value of the machine and the gameplay experience overall. We recognize there are some people that may not be able to afford [the Switch 2's] price point. That's why we wanted to make the other Switch platforms available, so [people] still have an opportunity to come into our gaming universe, be a part of these characters in these worlds, and see value, if you will, in whatever rung of the platform they come in."

So, Bowser is encouraging those who can't afford a Switch 2 to opt for the less expensive Switch, which will be supported for many years to come.
