Eidos Montréal is said to have pitched a new Deus Ex on several occasions. The developer has even approached partners and other external publishers in an attempt to obtain financing, but it has gone nowhere.
Sources report that companies have rejected the idea, as the game is considered "too specific" at this stage of production, and no publisher wants to go through with the idea because it would be too risky in the current economic climate.
