A Ryzen 9 9950X3D was damaged after three weeks of use on an ASRock motherboard

A Reddit user reports that his AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor suffered visible damage after three weeks of use on an ASRock X870 PRO RS motherboard. The PC never turned on again after a gaming session. The user claims to have activated neither overclocking nor PBO.

This case comes shortly after another report of start-up problems with the same processor model and an ASRock card. The processor shows a bump, similar to those observed on some Ryzen 7000 and 9000, often linked to excessive SoC voltage.

Neither AMD nor ASRock have confirmed the existence of any bug with the Ryzen 9 9950X3D to date.
