Minecraft is getting a graphics overhaul this year with Vibrant Visuals

Mojang gave details of the future of its famous game at Minecraft Live 2025. Among the most noteworthy announcements, there was a long-awaited graphical overhaul.

It's called Vibrant Visuals, and will bring advanced graphical effects to the Bedrock Edition as early as this year. Dynamic shadows, reflections on water or metal surfaces, directional lighting and volumetric fog will all be included. Overall, the game's lighting will be more natural.

Mojang also intends to make biomes, characters and buildings more detailed. However, please do note that all these improvements won't affect how the game works, and will even be backward-compatible with older worlds.
