Microsoft plans to bring together Windows and Xbox in part with its future handheld console
, by Thibaut
This week, we learned that the Xbox handheld could be released as early as this year. Now, The Verge has added further details about the machine, but also about Microsoft's overall strategy.
This portable console (codenamed Project Kennan) would be manufactured by Asus and be part of a wider initiative to unify Microsoft and Xbox games in a single library.
There's also the Project Bayside, an Xbox user interface common to all devices. In addition, the American company is reportedly planning to create a single online store that would bring together all Microsoft Store and Xbox games.
Last but not least, the development process for Xbox, PC and handheld games will also be simplified.
