Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will revolve around faith and religion

As with all Naughty Dog titles, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will feature a really intrincate narrative experience. Neil Druckmann, the game's director, recently spoke about this.

"We made certain creative decisions that got us a lot of hate. Lots of people love it, but a lot of people hate that game", said Druckmann. He then went on to joke about the main themes of his next game.

"So, you know what? Let’s do something people won’t care as much about, let’s make a game about faith and religion."

As a reminder, Intergalactic will be set 2,000 years in the future. It will be based on an alternative future that deviated from our reality during the 1980s. All this on another planet that we'll have to explore at the controls of protagonist Jordan A. Mun.

"So it's not just this alternate history. We've made sure that, where the timeline deviates, this new religion becomes quite important. This religion has been built up over many years, from the original prophet to the way it is modified and sometimes perverted and then evolves over all these years."

Finally, our heroine will be totally alone, with not a single ally at her side. This is something Naughty Dog had already done with The Last of Us and Uncharted.

"I really want you to be lost in a place that you’re really confused about what happened here, who are the people here, what was their history. At one point, all communication from this planet stopped. For 600 years, no one has heard anything from Sempiria."
