Things are looking up for Discord, which since its inception in 2015 has become an essential communication platform for gamers the world over. And it could well be that the messaging service will be taking a major step forward in the near future.
10 years after its launch, Discord could decide to go public very soon. Sources told the Financial Times that discussions are underway within the company founded by Jason Citron.
The company issued a statement.
"We understand there is a lot of interest around Discord's future plans, but we do not comment on rumors or speculation."
"Our focus remains on delivering the best possible experience for our users and building a strong, sustainable business."
This hypothetical IPO would be encouraged by the recent election of Donald Trump, which has greatly favored the market for American tech giants. Discord is currently valued at $15 billion.
