The small portable console Playdate has sold over 50,000 units

In July 2021, an astonishing console named Playdate was released. With its Game Boy-like appearance equipped with a crank (used for gameplay in some games), the machine quickly caught the attention of the world. Sold for $199, it includes 24 games, an 8-hour battery life, and a black-and-white screen. An ideal device for nostalgic gamers.
This week, we learned that 53,142 Playdates have been sold worldwide. An excellent result since Panic, the company manufacturing the console, originally planned to build only 20,000 units. 27,000 pre-ordered units have been shipped to date. The manufacturer wants to maintain the pace to honor all the orders placed.
