The cancelled Twisted Metal game was apparently a third-person battle royale

PlayStation has cancelled several big live service games in recent months. There was, of course, Bluepoint Games' God of War and another title created by Bend Studio (Days Gone).

Today, the MP1st site reports details of a Twisted Metal that was codenamed Project Copper internally. It was to be linked to the TV series and, above all, offer a concept far removed from previous entries in the franchise.

It was to be a battle royale with third-person shooter gameplay elements in addition to traditional vehicle combat. The aim, of course, was to be the ultimate survivor in each game. Players could also earn credits to avoid being eliminated.

This Twisted Metal, which never saw the light of day, was apparently developed by Firesprite using Unreal Engine 5.
