Niantic (the developer behind Pokémon GO) is developing a mobile game based on Monster Hunter
, by Thibaut
Following the worldwide success of Pokémon GO in 2016, Niantic Labs sought to improve its formula for smartphone and tablet titles that use the real world as a playground. Unfortunately, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and Pikmin Bloom went almost unnoticed. The competition hasn't fared well either, as evidenced by the quick shutdown of certain servers for The Witcher: Monster Slayer.
Nevertheless, Niantic will try again with Monster Hunter Now, which will be released on mobile platforms in September 2023. This game will offer an accessible hunting experience that can be enjoyed as part of daily life. Once again, the entire world will serve as the hunting grounds, with augmented reality elements displaying the monsters that appear during our walks. It will also be possible to play with others to take down the most ferocious beasts.
