NVIDIA will fix the black screen problems on its RTX GPUs this week
, by Quentin
NVIDIA has identified the cause of black screens affecting certain RTX cards and will launch a fix this week. According to the company, the solution will vary from case to case: some cards will require a VBIOS update, while a driver patch will suffice on others.
One Reddit user has confirmed that his RTX 5080 has already received a new VBIOS, fixing the problem altogether. Owners of MSI cards can check if an update is available.
NVIDIA points out that not all cards will require a firmware update. Some will just get a driver patch, as has been done in the past. We'll get further details on the matter shortly.
