Season 2 of The Last of Us will be divided into seven episodes

We've finally learned that The Last of Us will come back to streaming platforms on April 13.
This season 2 will go by at lightning speed, as it will be made up of seven different episodes, compared to the nine for the first season. However, fans can rest assured, as Variety reckons that “the story will extend beyond season 3".
It's safe to assume, then, that the storyline won't completely follow the plot of The Last of Us Part II, and that there will be some surprises.
