Okami 2 will run on Capcom's RE Engine

Hideki Kamiya and CLOVERS are currently at work on the sequel to Okami, which was announced at the Game Awards last December. The project is still in early stages of development, but site IGN has revealed a little bit more on it over the weekend.

An interview confirms that Okami 2 will run on the RE Engine. Capcom's engine was first used with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard in 2017. Since then, all the franchise's entries and some of thepublisher's biggest games such as Street Fighter 6 and Monster Hunter Wilds, have ran on it.

Since CLOVERS has never used the RE Engine, Machine Head Works, another Japanese studio, will be helping out on Okami 2. Some of this Japanese company's developers also worked on the first Okami.
