Ubisoft insists on its focus on live service games and open-world titles
, by Thibaut
The future is fairly clear when it comes to Ubisoft. The French company's CEO, Yves Guillemot, has made the two pillars that will shape the future of Ubisoft clear.
From now on, the publisher wants to focus almost exclusively on open-world games (à la Assassin's Creed) and the famous games as a service.
"We have been investing significantly for a big pipeline of products for the coming years along our two verticals, [these] being open-world action adventure as well as ‘Game as a Service’-native experiences. And that’s what we want to deliver year after year."
As for future projects, Guillemot pointed to Assassin's Creed Shadows, due March 20. He also highlighted "big plans that will benefit Rainbow Six across all platforms" for next year.
In 2026, we'll also get to enjoy Anno 117: Pax Romana and The Division: Resurgence on mobile.
