A Switch 2 patent suggests that the console may be turned upside down to charge port positions

A recent Nintendo patent suggests that the Switch 2 could be used upside down, all acording to the player's preference. The console would adopt a new Joy-Con attachment system, different from the first Switch where, instead of side rails, would attach to notches held in place by magnets.

This mechanism would allow players to connect the controllers to opposite sides of the console. In this case, the display would automatically tilt 180 degrees to adapt. The aim here would be to offer greater flexibility, in particular for the position of the headphone port, which could then be located at the top or bottom of the console.

The patent also mentions the USB ports. The main connector is centered on the bottom of the console, while a second port is offset on top. This arrangement could facilitate the use of certain accessories, such as a camera, if the console is turned upside down. Although this feature is described in a patent, there is no guarantee that it will be incorporated into the final product. Nintendo has to say anything on the matter for the Switch 2.
