The studio Jumpship (Sommervile) has regained its independence
, by Thibaut
As part of its cost-cutting program, publisher Thunderful laid off 100 people last November. The company also decided to part ways with one of its studios.
Thunderful sold Jumpship, the developer behind Somerville, which it acquired in 2022. The studio's co-founder, Dino Patti, is taking over the reins. Jumpship is once again independent. Patti has published a lengthy statement on X.
He speaks of his intention to completely change the trajectory taken by Jumpship and to reimagine "how talent can create and thrive". Patti also says she wants to establish "a vision where ambition and synergy with great talent unlock new possibilities".
We don't yet know what project the studio is currently working on.
